I am a member of the Peninsula Cool Team and have been a parent at Peninsula school since 1998. Currently, I'm on staff at Acterra, a local environmental organization and have formed this team and created this campaign because I believe strongly in the power of grass-roots efforts. The Peninsula community I have gotten to know supports social justice issues and is proud of its history of being engaged deeply in the issues of our time. Global climate change is clearly on everyone's mind and is the most important issue confronting our world today. Why not try to be a catalyst for change, for getting people moving toward taking this threat more seriously? Why not start with an effort to engage the Peninsula community to see if a model could be forged that other community groups could use as well? The experiment has begun, stay tuned!
