THE HARDEST CHALLENGE: BUY LESS.
For all of our efforts at reducing energy use at home, there remains one thing that has a greater effect than most of the others: Buy less. To further that goal, we’ve located a terrific new web tool that provides an easy-to-use way to catalog the things we own and are willing to loan to others and a forum to seek the items we’d like to borrow, instead of buy. Visit www.SocialWay.com and create an account, locate the Peninsula
School Community group under the Communities tab and join it. Then simply catalog items you’re willing to share (with the public, or only with Peninsula Community members) or post requests for an item you’d like to borrow. This has the potential to be a very
effective tool, especially if a bunch of us give it a try. Join us!

HERE’S TO A GREEN SPRING FAIR!
Once again, the Spring Fair will pursue the goal of being a low waste event. We’ll be providing compostable plates, clear cups, and coffee cups—with compost containers to dispose of them into—metal utensils that can be washed and reused—with fork
recycling cans to dispose of them into—as well as bottles/cans, and paper/cardboard recycling bins. We no longer sell bottled water at our events—visit Acterra’s table during the Fair to learn why—but rely on the cool fresh water that comes from the Big
Building tap: The same water our kids drink throughout the day. Please do your part and help keep the Spring Fair green this year! And please help your little ones learn how to dispose of items into the correct bins. Thank you!
