CAMPAIGN WRAP PARTY TOMORROW AT 3:00pm ON THE BIG FIELD! We hope you’ll join us for a short celebration of our community’s impressive efforts to cut CO2 emissions since our campaign began in January. Enjoy a solar-oven-baked brownie, see what folks have been saying and doing about the campaign, learn about our plans for next year, and view (and enter to win) the Grand Prize for our “I Took The Polls” Raffle (see below). We’ll provide a fun craft for kids too. We hope to see you there!

HOW DID YOU DO WITH MAY’S TRANSPORTATION CHALLENGES? The May poll will be landing in your email Inbox this weekend and we hope you’ll take a minute to complete it. This is the final challenge poll of this school year, so if you’ve never taken a poll before, now is your last chance to make good on the promise you made to take the polls each month. Read on.

FIRST-TIME POLL TAKERS: WE NEED YOUR HELP! Roughly one-third of the 162 pledging families have regularly taken the monthly challenge polls, which is a fantastic number. But we need EVERY FAMILY WHO PLEDGED to cut their CO2 emissions to take the polls. Will you help us? The poll results serve two important purposes: They provide you with a chance to clarify your energy habits to yourself (polls are anonymous), and they provide our campaign with an aggregate count of our community’s CO2 savings. If 45 people have saved over THIRTY TONS of CO2 so far, how much have we saved collectively? It’d be really nice to know, wouldn’t it?
Peninsula’s 3rd Grade Teacher Gail Buschini recently took all the polls and said this about the experience: “I just clicked on the poll link in the email you sent, and found the May poll, then the April one, all the way back to January. Couldn't have been easier!”

TAKE THE POLLS AND WIN A PRIZE! Each poll page invites you to move to the previous month’s poll or, if you’d previously taken the earlier polls, invites you to enter yourself in the “I Took The Polls” Raffle, where you could win a fabulous gift basket with the following items: A high-quality, hard-to-find 3-way CFL, a magnetic flashlight (no batteries needed), fine organic wine, chocolate, coffee, and tea, a beautiful cloth shopping bag and a gift certificate to…something fabulous. APRIL POLL RESULTS ARE IN! We asked lots of questions about what you recycle, which made the graph hard to read. But you can still notice one very interesting fact: how MANY of the poll respondents are “Already Doing” so many of the “consumer footprint” challenges. Congratulations and keep up the great work!
