Over 1,400 events were held last Saturday to rally behind the call to Congress to find ways to cut carbon emissions by 80% by 2050. Locally, a crowd of 250 gathered in Mitchell Park—in the rain—to learn more about what needs to be done. Check out the photos and press coverage of the event by visiting: http://events.stepitup2007.org/reports/136 (can you spot familiar Peninsula faces in the crowd)!
CELEBRATE EARTH DAY!
As a participant in the Peninsula Cool Campaign you’ve already pledged to put the environment first. This week, celebrate the changes you’ve made so far in your own life, inspire yourself to do even more, and give thanks that our culture is finally awakening to the damage we’ve done to our planet and seeking solutions. If we stay aware, help one another, and work hard work it just might be possible for our children’s children to have a healthy planet to live on after all.
