Recycling Medicine and Stopping Junk MailThis is a featured page

SAVE THE DATE: THE PENINSULA COOL CAMPAIGN WRAP PARTY will be held Friday, June 1, 3pm in front of the Big Building. Come help us celebrate the outstanding work our community has done to reduce our collective carbon footprint! Learn how much C02 we've saved so far, what fellow parents have been saying about the campaign, and how it's made a difference. Enjoy a slice of cake, bring your kids, share what you've learned, have a little fun. See you there!

BUT THE CAMPAIGN ISN'T OVER. There's a poll about May's transportation challenges coming soon. And we'd like to get your feedback about how the campaign has worked for you and whether to continue it next year. Stay tuned.

SOME QUESTIONS & ANSWERS FROM THE APRIL POLL:
Q: How would you recycle medicine? A: Medicine should definitely not be flushed down the toilet (where it could contaminate the water supply). Instead, gather it up and make a trip to your local hazardous waste collection facility.

Q: How do I stop junk mail? A: Call the 800 number of mail order catalog companies and ask to be taken off their mailing list. Contact the Mail Preference Service at http://www.dmaconsumers.org/offmailinglist.html and say you want off national mailing lists. Or check out web sites such as http://www.DirectMail.com/Junk_Mailhttp://www.stopthejunkmail.com. For more ideas, see April's "Reuse" challenge on the website at http://peninsulacool.wetpaint.com.
