The Peninsula Cool Campaign is Launched!
1/11/2007
THE PENINSULA COOL CAMPAIGN IS LAUNCHED! By now EVERY household (staff included) has received an invitation and a rock. Thanks for the enthusiastic reception!
PLEASE PUT YOUR ROCK IN THE "JAR" ON THE FRONT PORCH to signal that you intend to cut back on your energy use! We’re enjoying watching the rock level climb up toward 100%, we’re more than halfway there!
HAVE YOU BEEN TO PeninsulaCool.wetpaint.com YET? It is a web site just for OUR community while we work out how to make changes in our energy use. We're hearing lots of suggestions for ways to help one another with energy use: Please don't tell us, post it on the wiki yourself! (See the Contributors_Guide on the site for help). THAT is exactly what the wiki is for: to get the conversation going!
JOIN US FOR “AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH”, this Friday, 1/12, at 6:30 pm in the Auditorium. Children welcome—some 8th graders will be on hand with crayons and books if they need a distraction— and a small snack will be provided.
FREE CFLs THIS FRIDAY! PG&E has generously offered to donate a free compact flourescent lightbulb (CFL) for each household in our community: We will pass them out on Friday at the movie screening. For those of you who can’t attend the film, watch driveway signs and look for a “Free CFL” table at pick-up time a few afternoons next week.
